A roadmap for creating a public database of country-by-country reporting data

Over the past few months, I’ve been the project manager of the Open Data for Tax Justice initiative, a collaboration between the Tax Justice Network, Open Knowledge International and the Financial Transparency Coalition, supported by a grant from Omidyar Network.

Last week, the initiative published a white paper setting out a roadmap for the creation of a global public database on the tax contributions and economic activities of multinational companies.

In the white paper, you can see user stories about who would use such a database and how; what the database should contain; where this information could be sourced from; and the next steps we plan to take to create a pilot database.
